Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Mnexa

How does Mnexa work?

Mnexa is a Telegram bot that helps you track your career. Simply message the bot with what you're working on, and it logs your entry. At the end of each week, Mnexa automatically generates a reflection summary highlighting your themes, accomplishments, and patterns. You can also opt in to networking to connect with professionals who share similar interests.

Is my data private?

Yes, your privacy is a priority. Your entries are stored securely and are only visible to you. If you opt in to networking, matches are suggested based on shared interests, but your identity remains anonymous until you explicitly choose to reveal it. Both parties must consent before identities are shared. You can export or delete all your data at any time.

How does networking work?

When you opt in to networking, Mnexa analyzes your work entries to identify your professional interests. When it finds another user with relevant overlapping interests, it proposes a match to both of you. If both accept, you can message each other anonymously through Mnexa. At any point, either user can request to reveal their Telegram username - but this only happens if both agree.

Can I export my data?

Absolutely. Use the /export command or say "Export my data" to download all your entries in CSV or JSON format. Your complete history is included, with both your original messages and the AI-processed versions.

How do I delete my account?

Say "Delete my account" to the bot. You'll be asked to confirm by typing "yes, delete my account". Once confirmed, all your data - entries, summaries, matches, and conversations - is permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.

What timezone does Mnexa use?

Mnexa respects your personal timezone for determining week boundaries and sending summaries. During onboarding, you set your timezone. You can change it anytime by saying something like "Change my timezone to Pacific" or "Set timezone to Europe/London". Mnexa supports all major IANA timezones.

Is Mnexa free?

Mnexa is currently free to use during our demo period. We're focused on building the best experience before introducing any pricing. When we do introduce pricing, early users will be notified and may receive special offers.

How does Mnexa help me achieve career milestones?

Mnexa helps you stay accountable to your goals. When you log entries, Mnexa identifies projects and milestones you're working toward. Weekly summaries highlight your progress, celebrate wins, and gently remind you of goals that may need attention. The gentle nudge system keeps you moving forward without pressure - you're always in control of which goals to pursue, pause, or drop.

How do weekly summaries work?

At the end of your configured week (based on your chosen start day), Mnexa automatically generates a summary. It analyzes all your entries from that week and produces a reflection that includes: a work summary, a personal summary (if applicable), key themes, and notable patterns. The summary is non-judgmental - it celebrates your progress and treats quiet periods as normal.

What are project nudges?

When Mnexa notices you haven't mentioned a project in a while (default: 14 days), it may gently remind you. These nudges are questions, not demands - you can update the project status, pause nudges for that project, or drop it entirely. You can also disable nudges completely or reduce their frequency in settings.

What happens to my messages?

When you send a message, Mnexa's AI processes it to: understand your intent (is it a log entry, a question, a command?), rephrase it for better searchability, categorize it (work vs. personal), and extract any projects mentioned. The original message and the processed version are both stored. This processing is done using OpenAI's GPT models.

Can I correct my summaries?

Yes! If the weekly summary misunderstood something, you can add a correction. Just respond to the summary with additional context or corrections, and this will be associated with that week's reflection.

How is matching done?

Mnexa uses semantic similarity to find matches. It compares the meaning of your work entries with other users' entries (not just keywords). A match is proposed when the relevance score exceeds a threshold. The matching is based on what you're actually working on, not superficial profile information.

How does Mnexa help me grow my professional network?

Mnexa connects you with professionals who share your ambitions and challenges - based on your real work, not curated profiles. When you opt in to networking, Mnexa finds people working on similar things and proposes connections. Conversations start anonymous so you can focus on substance first. You decide when (and if) to reveal your identity. It's networking that respects your privacy while helping you build meaningful professional relationships.
